Entry: What You See is What You Get May 15, 2009

Colton has never tried to make himself something he isn't in front of other people. He doesn't lie or make execuses or even try to adapt, he is what he is.

Parent/teacher conferences are no different...

Yesterday was our end of the year parent teacher conference for Colton. He attended with Roger and Colton's 2nd grade teacher. Here is an excerpt from that meeting.

Teacher: Colton is very bright. But we lose Colton to his thoughts and daydreams and he doesn't always focus. Right, Colton?

Colton: Yep.

Teacher: When Colton reads passages and then answers questions, if he doesn't know the answer, he just doesn't answer. He doesn't goes back and try to find the answer.

Colton: That sounds right.

My favorite is when he filled out his form for "My Spring Goals" and explained his progress towards "trying to get my work done in class", he wrote..."I didn't get around to that one."

He's Colton...not sure I would have it any other way.
